The 16VC Story So Far
When people hear about 16VC today, they often see the words venture capital fund and global.
But the real story of how 16VC began is much more humble — and much more intentional.
16VC didn’t start with capital.
It started with founders.
2022 — Where It Really Started
The journey of 16VC began in 2022, not as a fund, but as an angel syndicate and a venture studio.
Instead of chasing LP commitments or raising money first, the priority was simple:
Work directly with founders at the earliest stage — when belief matters more than capital.
We worked with early founders across product, design, go-to-market, sales, positioning, and customer development — deeply, hands-on, and without ego.
These weren’t investment transactions — they were company-building partnerships.
And that experience shaped everything that came next.
2023–2024 — Learning Through Building
Over the next two years, we partnered with multiple early-stage startups — and we learned what the ecosystem gets wrong.
Founders don’t need:
❌ 30-minute calls full of generic advice
❌ Another “mentor”
❌ Endless pitches that never lead anywhere
Founders do need:
✔ Speed
✔ Execution support
✔ Belief before traction
These learnings became the backbone of the 16VC thesis.
2025 — Becoming a Global Venture Fund
In 2025, 16VC evolved into a UK-based global venture capital fund focused on:
🔹 AI
🔹 Enterprise Software
🔹 Global & cross-border founders
We are now completing FCA authorization to deploy institutional capital — because sustainable venture capital requires governance, discipline, and long-term credibility.
While authorization is in progress, we continue supporting founders through:
Venture Studio
Fellowship & Incubation
We’re building an institution — not a “fast VC.”
2026 — What’s Coming Next
The roadmap ahead is clear and ambitious:
📌 2025 — Capital deployment begins (post-FCA approval)
📌 2025 — Fellowship expansion across India, UK & Southeast Asia
📌 Mid-2026 — 16VC Accelerator launch
📌 Long term — global scale across North America and MENA
Our goal is simple:
To become the first call for founders who are building something so ambitious that most people don’t understand it yet.
About the Founder — Sridhar Arunagiri
16VC is led by Sridhar Arunagiri — Founder & General Partner.
Before launching the fund, Sridhar spent several years as:
A founder
A product & GTM operator
A builder inside early-stage startups
He has been on the other side of the table — struggling for capital, struggling for a team, and trying to build something big without resources.
Those lessons shaped the core belief system of 16VC:
Founders don’t need to be perfect — they need to be supported.
Capital matters — but belief matters more.
Venture firms shouldn’t wait for founders to “look fundable” — they should help them become fundable.
Sridhar built 16VC not from the perspective of a banker — but from the perspective of a builder.
The Philosophy That Drives Us
16VC exists for bold founders, not the safe ones.
We believe:
Great companies are built by people outsiders underestimate
Execution matters more than credentials
Global founders deserve global capital
Technology is the fastest driver of upward mobility
We don’t want to wait for founders to look ready.
We want to partner with them the moment they decide to start.
The Mission
After three years of building quietly, one sentence defines who we are:
Back bold founders — long before the world believes in them.
Whether you’re in Bengaluru, London, São Paulo, Jakarta, Dubai, Nairobi, Toronto, or anywhere in between — if you’re building something ambitious in AI or enterprise software, we’d love to meet you.
This is still just the beginning of the 16VC story.
The next chapter will be written with the founders we back.

Hey, great read as always. Love that you called out the useless 'mentor' calls. How do you plan to keep that deep founder support scaleable as a global fund? So insightful!
